The Indiana Pacers drafted center Goga Bitadze with their first-round draft pick. What does that mean for the rest of the roster?

The way we look at it is [Domantas] Sabonis is going to play a lot of 4 and Myles [Turner] can play a lot of 4," he said,"[Goga] fits us perfectly." For example, if Goga really is in the rotation, presumably as a center, then how is Domantas Sabonis getting minutes? And not just some minutes, but a hefty chunk of them. Yet somehow, it was a positive this past season. That makes it worth investigating. It looks ugly, but it works. With Sabonis at the power forward sport alongside Turner, Indiana outscored their opponents by 43 points in 434 minutes. Against playoff teams, those numbers change to 17 points in 239 minutes.is where the problems existed. Against Boston, the Pacers only scored 53 points in 61 possessions with the pair on the hardwood. That's an 86.9 offensive rating, which, yuck.
If it is the case that the Pacers believe in the Turner/Sabonis pairing, that does not inspire confidence in a Thaddeus Young return come free agency. If Sabonis is playing more minutes at power forward, perhaps even starting at the position, Thad becomes somewhat superfluous.
