Friends of Nottingham attacks victim Grace O'Malley-Kumar will be running in the Robin Hood Half Marathon to fundraise in memory of the compassionate and "driven" young woman. .
Dan Padian, 19, who first met Grace in sixth form and regarded her as a "close friend", said: "She was someone who was always there for all of her friends and was one of the most driven people I have ever known. She always offered help and never asked for anything back in return."He added: "She was hugely talented at hockey and played cricket too. She was always late to getting to parties because she was coming from an England game.
The group of friends admitted they were not the keenest of runners, but said they wanted to come to Nottingham to "continue to raise awareness for her foundation". "She was a massive person in the local community so that is why we wanted to come up to Nottingham to show that," Dan said on behalf of the group.
