A former head teacher says she is in "disbelief" after being recognised for her volunteer work in the Kings New Year Honours list.
She was recognised for her services to scouting, including her former role as Deputy Chief Commissioner of Scouts Scotland which she held from February 2019 to July 2022. Speaking about Gillian’s contribution to scouting in Scotland, Andrew Shakey, Chief Commissioner of Scouts Scotland said: “Gillian has made a significant contribution to Scouting in Scotland and we are delighted that she has been recognised for her efforts with an MBE in the King’s New Year's Honours List.
