Anthem fans believe there's a conspiracy that explains why loot in the game is so bad. It's almost certainly not true.
from a year ago covering “psychological manipulation” of gamers, the thread has been removed and all subsequent threads containing that same information are being removed as well. Conspiracy! EA censorship!That document is almost certainly fake. While I can’t definitively prove no ambitious idiot ever presented it to any company, reading the thing through , this A) seems to have almost nothing to do with the problemsis currently having and B) is full of complete and utter ridiculous nonsense.
The gist of that patent is mainly about smoothing out difficulty curves to keep players from quitting, and gathering data about how they play or even spend money to adjust the game accordingly. The only mention of “loot” I found is a section where it talks about how if the game sense you are using a specific weapon type a lot and like it, it may be likely to drop more weapons of that type.
The EA patent is real and talking about AI systems determining game outcomes causes people to link it to the first document.’s loot like why BioWare hasn’t simply upped drop rates when that’s such a clear fix, and why weird things happen like those periods of “super drops” before patches. I just…don’t think it’s that complicated. The Occam’s Razor simplest explanation here is that…game development is hard,went through a tough multi-year dev process and BioWare has never made a loot game before. Hence, problems.
