A woman has shared the truth about what it is really like to visit raved-about convenience store Wakey Wines as its popularity continues to surge after going viral on TikTok.
Lauren travelled almost 40 miles to get her hands on the famous 'WFD Sweets' being sold at Wakey Wines. She said she texted owner Mohammed Azar Nazir when she was on her way to the shop and the pair met outside the entrance. She said the shop is "long but not very wide" and said there was a lot of international products on the shelves which you wouldn't typically see in a UK off-licence. "It is very busy when you go in," she said.
Lauren was subject to a lot of backlash after shouting out to her girlfriend who is in prison. During the video, Mohammed asked: "What made you come to the famous shop Wakey Wines?" "To get boss man's WFD Sweets," she can be heard replying. Lauren said she paid £20 for the sweets and also purchased a Wakey Wines branded T-shirt for £25. She said: "I was shocked as I did think before going that the pricing was false but the pricing talked about on social media is what it's really like."
