Today at Art Basel, virgilabloh debuted a new furniture collection and installation, Twentythirtyfive, with Swiss design brand Vitra.

, with Swiss design brand Vitra., as the name suggests, envisions interior design in 2035. It has two rooms. The first, called “Past/Present” imagines a teenager’s room in the present day of 2019. In the middle of the room is a seesaw.Pinterest

The next room, called “Tomorrow,” fast forwards to 2035. That same teen is now all grown up, his approach to decor matured. Gone are the lackadaisically laid musical instruments. Instead there’s a wall hung with tools, shelves adorned with ceramic blocks, a long table lined with chairs. It’s a space for both work and play. And as a design community, we should be thinking about that in the larger sphere of what we’re doing. It’s arguable whether we will even have a need for furniture in 2035.”: the siren-orange Antony Chair, Petit Potence light, and ceramic blocks.

at the Venice Biennale. It featured chairs that appeared to sink into the floor, meant as a commentary on rising sea levels and climate change. He is also working on much-anticipated collaboration with IKEA called “Markerad,” slated to drop this fall. Off White also has its own
