MPs have approved a bill to delay Brexit and avoid a no-deal on October 31

If the opposition succeeds, Johnson is expected to call an early general election.
Johnson for now appears to have been outmanoeuvred by an alliance of rebel Conservative MPs, and oppositions parties who want to block his plan to leave the EU on October 31 with, or without a trade deal.
