The fair is on for 10 days again this year
New rides have been confirmed for the Goose Fair in Nottingham which returns at the end of the month for another 10-day stint. Half a million visitors are expected to make the trip to the historic fair - famous for the sale of mushy peas, candy floss and Cock-on-a-Stick - which will welcome visitors and punters to its Forest Recreation Ground home from September 29 until October 8.
All the Goose Fair classics will also be in attendance such as The Skid, Gallopers and the Cake Walk – the only ride still operating that featured when the fair was held at Old Market Square – plus lots of side-show games such as hook-a-duck and basketball.Further details haven't been released about the two new rides.
William Percival, chair of the Showmen’s Guild , said: “After the success of last year’s extended Goose Fair we are looking forward to bringing the fair back to Nottingham for 10 days, and hope it will be just as successful. We are bringing some exciting new rides and there will be something for everyone. We’d like to thank all the visitors who have attended the fair previously and hope to see them again this year.
