Two Americans were discovered dead inside their luxury hotel room in Mexico’s Baja California peninsula Tuesday night, according to authorities.
The bodies of a man and a woman, both in their mid-30s, were found by paramedics and police around 9 p.m.,
First responders entered the hotel room located in the seaside community of El Pescadero after receiving reports that the Americans were unconscious, police said.The suspected causes of death were inhalation of gas, which has happened to other Americans in Mexico in recent years.The hotel is a luxurious Hyatt property. The company did not immediately respond to an ABC News’ request for comment.
US officials could not comment on the case because of privacy concerns. More information on the victims was not available Wednesday night. And in 2018, a gas leak in a water heater killed an American couple and their two children at a resort in Tulum.
