Long Lane in Aintree, was cordoned off by officers, while emergency services dealt with an incident. The crash happened at around 7.45am on Monday, September 4 and involved a digger and White VW Polo.
North West Ambulance Service also attended and treated the Polo driver at the scene. The driver of the digger remained at the scene and assisted police with their enquiries. Heavy traffic was reported in the area, while the road was closed for four hours.A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "Just after 7.45am this morning we received a report of a collision on Long Lane in Liverpool involving a digger and a White VW Polo.
"The driver of the digger remained at the scene and assisted police with their enquiries. Long Lane and Brookfield Drive was closed whilst emergency services including Merseyside Fire and Rescue Services were at the incident."
