0 people for every 100,000 were hospitalized with respiratory syncytial virus the week ending Nov. 5, according to federal data from 12 states. The rate is the highest since the winter before the pandemic, when some 2.7 people per 100,000 were hospitalized in January 2020. The hospitalization rate declined from 3.4 hospitalizations per 100,000 in the week ending Oct. 29.
