An orange wind warning remains in place for the Channel Islands, where wind speeds of up to 104mph have been recorded.
Chief Minister says the island will "still be likely to suffer from further bad weather" in the coming days, following the arrival ofDeputy Peter Ferbrache has thanked the emergency services and volunteers for their "magnificent" support, but urged islanders to continue to be vigilant while unsettled weather continues.
President William Tate said the island has been "incredibly lucky over the course of the last 24 hours". Christopher Beaumont, Seigneur of Sark said "people did the sensible thing and they weren't out and about, they kept themselves indoors. We're not as densely populated as other islands so when trees come down they don't come down on houses which is a good thing".
