An amber weather warning is in place from late evening Wed Nov 1 until 1pm Thu Nov 2.
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Storm Ciarán, the third named storm of the season, is showing its teeth across the country – and the weather is likely to stay rough for a while. Two separate amber warnings are currently in effect for wind in the far south, while yellow warnings for wind and rain are scattered around the rest of the UK.
By the early afternoon, the wind appears to be revolving around a central point somewhere in Lincolnshire. The Met Office’s two amber warnings for tomorrow focus on Devon and Cornwall at one side of the country, and the south-east coast including Portsmouth, Brighton, Kent and the Isle of Wight at the other side.
