Here are three takeaways from Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian’s latest weekly Monday press conference:“We fought like crazy,” he said. “I felt like we ran out of time. I thought we might’ve had a chance there in the end if we could’ve had a little more time.”
Ewers’ backup, sophomore Hudson Card, was also injured in Saturday’s loss. Card was able to finish out the game, but third-string quarterback Charles Wright was taking reps on the sideline just in case. Texas running back Bijan Robinson said his shoulder hurts a little bit but added, "I should be good by the middle of the week." When asked what it takes for him to play this week, Robinson said, "Be tough. Stop being a little wimp."But with so many key players on the injury report, the healthy members of the Texas roster have no choice but to take on more responsibility going forward.
