San Antonio Spurs bring back iconic jersey for 50th anniversary celebration
The Spurs and Hall of Famer George Gervin announce the team's Classic Edition uniform to commemorate their 50-year legacy on Monday, July 11, 2022. The jersey harkens back to the days when the"Iceman" Gervin and the Spurs played in the Hemisfair arena. Players will don the Classic Edition uniforms for select games this upcoming season. Fans can also get their hands on the jerseys starting in September.
As the Spurs celebrate their 50th anniversary this season, the team announced that the jerseys will be making a comeback with the 2022-23 Nike NBA Classic Edition uniform. Gervin was on hand Monday to unveil the returning outfit, which will be worn at select home and road games through the year. The Spurs’ reveal also included uniform shorts with a diamond design and old-school logo on each side.
The throwback jersey and other apparel will be available from Spurs Fan Shops in September, per the team’s release.
