CBS said it was its most-watched September game window since 1998, when NFL games returned to the network after a four-year absence. Overall, NFL games are averaging 18.92 million viewers on the network after two weeks, which it said is its best start in a dozen years.
Fox had single games in its early and late afternoon windows and averaged 16.22 million viewers in total. The broadest windows were Tampa Bay-New Orleans early, and the two late games were Falcons-Rams and Seahawks-49ers. The final audience figures for Week 2’s MNF won’t be available until later today or Wednesday. There was no Manning Cast for Week 2; it returns next week for Rams-49ers until another hiatus keeps it away until Weeks 7-9 and then Weeks 13-15.
For the full 2022 season, Sunday Ticket was priced at $294, and an option that includes NFL RedZone at $396 for the full season. Tech giants Amazon, Apple and Google are reportedly interested, along with ESPN owner Disney, in replacing DirecTV as the NFL’s out-of-market live game rights holder.
