Families will get about 3% more to spend on food each month after a cost of living adjustment is applied Oct. 1 for SNAP recipients.
The maximum monthly gross income for a household of four in those states and Washington will rise from $3,007 to $3,250, an increase of about 8%.
Benefit amounts for Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands also will expand, but at slightly higher levels.– a deduction for housing costs eligible families can apply to their income levels, will rise from $624 to $672.
