Scots have been left unimpressed by the accent of a Disneyland cast member portraying the Brave character Merida at one of their famous parks.
A video introducing the new and enthusiastic actress was posted on TikTok by a former cast member earlier on Monday. The 'meet and greet' clip shows the young actress responding to a question made by the creator about bears in the Scottish-themed film. While Kelly Macdonald plays the character in the film, many Scots were left questioning the accent of the park actress after watching the introductory video.Kirsty McLaren said: "The only word that had a Scottish accent was 'about' the rest was a bit Newfoundland-esque."Some said the actress sounded like she was from Texas.
A user named berdeddude wrote: "What in the name of Texas is that accent? Now I'm only from the Highlands so maybe I haven't heard this accent before." Another person under the username DeadbeatPad said: "Nailed it. No notes. Merida was from a strange moon hovering between Ireland and Texas, right?"Another Scottish user said how she was going to get her kids to teach the actress the Scottish accent during her visit to Disneyland next month.Others Brave fans hailed the talented actress, saying she was the "perfect" Merida.
