San Diego police investigating stabbing in City Heights [Breaking]
A man was wounded in a stabbing Thursday evening in City Heights, prompting police to shut down University Avenue near the 15 freeway to investigate, officers said.
The stabbing occurred about 7:25 p.m. near University Avenue and 40th Street, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said. Paramedics took the victim to a hospital, Heims said. It was not immediately clear what led up to the stabbing or how severe his injuries were. Due to a police investigation, eastbound 3900 University Ave & southbound 3900 40th St will be closed for several hours. Motorist are encouraged to use alternative routes.
