It has recalled all its Taste the Difference Spanish Chorizo Iberico Ring with use by dates between November 23 and January 16 2014
The supermarket giant has pulled Taste the Difference Spanish Chorizo Iberico Ring from the shelves as some listeria monocytogenes has been found. The bacteria is the third most common cause of bacterial meningitis in adults and can cause symptoms similar to flu.
The FSA said: "Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.
