In a delicious twist of casting, Backyard Renaissance’s “God of Carnage” stars two real-life married couples: company co-founders Jessica John and Francis Gercke, and Keiko Green and MJ Sieber. But they don’t play each other’s spouses. John is the supremely self-righteous Veronica with Sieber as her more earthy spouse, Michael. Green is tightly self-controlled Annette, hilariously nicknamed “Woof Woof” by husband Alan, the guy with the phone glued to his ear.
Sieber’s Michael is the closest the story has to an “everyman,” though he gets to erupt like Vesuvius in one of “Carnage’s” most zany moments.
