Truck Yard's tacky new restrooms are a must-see.
Truck Yard has a bigger bar, new bathrooms, and a covered outdoor area to make it more comfortable in any weather. It reopened March 10, 2023.The original Truck Yard bar near Greenville Avenue in Dallas reopened March 10, 2023 after a $2 million facelift. But there’s no Botox at this backyard bar: The hand-me-down hubcaps and rusted bikes are still hanging on the fences, and the best seat is still from an old truck bed.
Boso says the upgrade to North Texas’ oldest — and smallest — Truck Yard is “long overdue” and “extremely important.” Truck Yard started selling cheesesteaks and beer in 2013, and Boso went on to open much larger Truck Yards in The Colony, Fort Worth and Houston. In 2021, he opened a similarly shabby-chic bar and restaurant called Second Rodeo Brewing in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
“I needed to change, I needed to upgrade,” Boso says of the renovation. “I needed to give my customers a new reason to come back.” Customers will still find the food trucks parked in the back of the property that give this restaurant its name. The tree house is still there, offering an up-high drinking spot with a view — though it has some new structural support.
