How much snow came this weekend, and what's coming next.
Up to 3 inches of snow was recorded at the Indianapolis International Airport on Saturday in an event the National Weather Service is calling"abnormal" for November.The snowfall total for the area was 2.7 inches, which is nearly 2 inches more than the record held for snowfall on Nov. 12.
"It's just hard to get a weather pattern that favors the cold air coming in plus having moisture for snow," Cody Moore, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, said."But everything came together just right for that to happen on Saturday." A vast majority of locations outachieved projections with many having more than 2 inches of snowfall after it stopped, Moore said.
