The occasional alcohol licence was granted at a meeting in Glasgow today.
Rangers have got the go-ahead to sell booze in a marquee for the upcoming Old Firm clash on April 7 at Glasgow city's licensing board today.
A police inspector recommended conditions including limits on alcohol for the operation of the marquee considering the “rivalry” between the two sides and the nature of the event. The requirements, which also covered stewarding, were accepted by the board.Lawyer Stephen McGowan representing, Rangers Football Club, said the marquee was an example of how the club wanted to deliver something “special” and “novel” as part of efforts to create a “better atmosphere.
