Speaking ahead of the Hoops’ 3-1 win against Motherwell on Sunday , Sutton claimed his former side had the chance to “absolutely bury” Rangers over the last two transfer windows, but failed to do so due to their lacklustre signings.
Such poor additions have been seen as a major contributing factor to the club’s downfall this season, with Sutton himself admitting that the transfer strategy was not good enough. However, Rangers fans have taken umbrage with the fact that Sutton seemingly downplayed their club’s ability and squad and hounded him for suggesting the Hoops could have pushed so far ahead of them.
