A yellow weather warning is now in place for the Greater Glasgow area as Storm Babet continues to cause widespread damage and disruption across much of Scotland.
A new weather warning has been issued for Greater Glasgow as Storm Babet continues to cause mayhem across Scotland.
However, the Glasgow region will continue to avoid the worst of of the severe wind and rain which is causing major damage and disruption across the north and north-east of the country. The rain will be accompanied by very strong easterly winds across parts of Scotland, which could exacerbate impacts."
On Thursday afternoon, a woman in Angus died after being swept into a river in the county amid the evacuation of 400 homes in the region. The 57-year-old was swept away at the Water of Lee, Glen Esk, just before 2pm on Thursday.
