Ouh it's 'ot ☀️
Another warm weekend is in store across Lancashire with the Met Office forecasting temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s.
Earlier this week an official heatwave was triggered by the Met Office after the daily maximum temperature reached 25C on three consecutive days in a row. Monday night brought a sudden and dramatic change with thunder and torrential rain hitting the county - the first rainfall in more than three weeks. The glorious sunshine over the last few days is set to continue into Friday with highs of 27C.
The mixture of rain, clouds and sunshine will roll into the start of next week before heavier rain is forecast for Wednesday. Met Office spokesman Stephen Dixon said that, while temperatures will remain hotter than average for this time of year, most regions of the country will drop below the threshold for a heatwave.
