Fathers teach their children quite by accident. From Daddy, I caught the values of doing even small jobs well and taking a healthy pride in my work.I’m not sure what has caused the change, but I am really enjoying the increased coverage of the city of McKinney. About two months ago, you covered the food desert here in McKinney. On Monday was a wonderful story about the Samaritan Inn. Tuesday, there was front-page coverage on the McKinney City Council meeting.
Dallas has come a long way since it was known as “the city of hate.” It’s up to all residents to ensure that fairness, civility and decency shall become our hallmarks going forward, assisted by the necessary legislative action on enforcing the tenets of our Constitution.Re: “Red tape ‘silences’ new voter,” by Christopher Hardesty-Crouch, June 11 Letters.
We say we want to encourage our young people to be good citizens and be involved in our democracy, but that is just not true in Texas. Our state’s elections laws belie the “easier to vote, harder to cheat” slogan that Gov. Greg Abbott and the Texas Legislature purport.
As someone deeply concerned with the health and well-being of children, I was heartened to read this story. It is wonderful to see how science and innovation continue to improve the experience for both children and adults when it comes to protecting ourselves from dangerous diseases.
