Curtis’s film début was as Laurie Strode, in “Halloween” , a role that she later reprised in “Halloween” and “Halloween Kills” ; this October 14th, “Halloween Ends,” the last film in the recent “Halloween” trilogy, will première. Curtis is also a best-selling children’s-book author, the creator of the production company Comet Pictures, and the founder of the charity My Hand in Yours, which supports the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Her feature directorial début, “The Lost Daughter,” which she also wrote, garnered numerous honors, including the Venice Film Festival’s Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay, three Independent Spirit Awards, and an Oscar nomination; she was also named one ofHer performances onscreen, in films including “Secretary” , “Sherrybaby” , and “Crazy Heart” , and in the BBC/Sundance miniseries “The Honorable Woman,” have earned her an Oscar nomination, a Golden Globe, and many other laurels.
