After his massive cameo as Superman in The Flash movie, Nicolas Cage has finally broken his silence on getting to play the DC icon in the DCEU film.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Nicolas Cage finally talks about getting to play the Man of Steel in The Flash movie, more than two decades after his Superman Lives film was canceled. After having been stuck in development hell since 2014, The Flash film with Ezra Miller was officially released in theaters this year, only to become one of the DCEU's biggest financial bombs.

The Flash, which tapped into the DC multiverse, featured multiple cameos, with the biggest surprise being Cage finally getting to play Superman after Tim Burton's film was canceled in the late 1990s. At last, Cage has opened up about getting to suit up as Krypton's last son in The Flash, as he spoke about it in an interview with USA Today.

Well, I was glad I didn’t blink. For me, it was the feeling of being actualized. Even that look for that particular character, finally seeing it on screen, was satisfying. But as I said, it’s quick.Nic Cage Reveals How He Would Have Played Superman Even though it was a brief appearance, Cage's Superman cameo is still significant, given that The Flash made room for a DC film that was scrapped in the long run.

According to Cage, his version of Clark Kent would have been similar to his performance in City of Angels, as he "was already developing this alien otherness playing this angel.

If fans want a bigger insight into Superman Lives, Cage's movie is further explored in The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened? documentary, which goes deeply into the complicated production mess before the film was scrapped. This also serves to shed more light on the fact that, despite being only for a couple of seconds, it is still a miracle that Cage got to appear in The Flash movie as Superman from another universe.
