Hot week ahead: Temperatures expected to heat up throughout the week, breaking 100 degrees
For Monday and Tuesday, the peak heat index, describing how hot it will feel when humidity is taken into account, will range from 105 to 108 degrees.
“As we get into Wednesday and then, especially beyond Wednesday, that's when we're going to be talking about a good chance of most areas reaching or even exceeding the 100-degree mark,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Cameron Self. “And then if you take into account the humidity, we can be talking about heat indexes in excess of 110 degrees.”
Last year was Houston’s hottest June on record, and temperatures are not quite as high as they were a year ago.Thursday temperatures are expected to reach 101 degrees, heating up to 102 degrees Friday.
