Eagles linebacker Maxie Baughn was a member of the 1960 world championship team.
The team announced Sunday that Maxie Baughn had died at the age of 85. Baughan joined the team in 1960 and was part of the world championship roster that beat the Green Bay Packers at Franklin Field, the third world championship in the franchise’s history.
In the 80 games he played with the Eagles, he had seven interceptions and five fumble recoveries, earning five Pro Bowl selections, two All-Pro nods, and finished second in the UPI Rookie of the Year voting. Baughn went on to play six more seasons, five with the Los Angeles Rams before retiring in 1971. Baughn returned for the 1974 season to play with the Washington Commanders in two games.
