MeeMoo the Emu really did Roadrunner proud when it managed to outspeed Tennessee police in a 20-mile chase 🛣
MeeMoo the emu reached speeds of 40mph during a high-speed pursuit in Tennessee, USA.
The bird had become spooked because of construction near his home in Harriman so decided to jump his seven-foot fence.social mediaHe told 6abc News: ‘I said “if you see my emu please let me know” and immediately we were flooded with private messages saying like “hey your emu is in my back yard” and all these videos.
‘The videos posted are pretty amazing to us but it is really the tip of the iceberg considering what is out there.‘He went by a lot of the landmarks in town, he went to some popular restaurants, so it really appeared like he knew where he was going.’A video was posted by Steven McDaniel to YouTube which showed MeeMoo being pursued by three Harriman police cars.
He said: ‘The community coming together just for that few minutes was such a great thing to see last night. ‘There’s been a lot of comments about just how funny it was and you know everybody is wanting to meet MeeMoo now.It proved to be a tricky 20-mile chase for Harriman Police Once back home, the emu then escaped a second time before being captured by police again.MeeMoo’s escapades come after a similar incident closer to home.
