Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu has revealed that a savage line was cut from the Emily In Paris pilot, for a very good reason.
It’s safe to say that the 59-year-old totally stole the hearts of viewers all over the world with her portrayal as the iconic, sassy and downright fashionable Sylvie Grateau, marketing boss of Emily Cooper .
Discussing how the program came to be, she recalled reading the script for the pilot and admitted that one particular comment was scrapped from the end product. ‘Where I offer Emily a cigarette and she says, “No, I’m not smoking. Smoking can kill you.” And Sylvie answers, “Better dead than fat”. It’s safe to say that fans have had a tumultuous relationship with Emily In Paris since it debuted in 2020, and many mocked Darren Star’s series at the beginning.Fans have been begging for a Sylvie spin-off However, this has definitely changed over time – and excitement is reaching fever pitch ahead of series three dropping next week.
