The ECHO was on hand to photograph the best dressed at the showpiece event
to capture dozens of people battling to be recognised as the best dressed at the famous old racecourse. The event today, Saturday, September 2, is globally recognised as a key date in the racing calendar with seven key runs billed throughout the day.
The racecourse, which was established in the middle of the 16th century, is recognised as the world's oldest still in operation. As well as the races, there is lots of entertainment off the track with BBC Radio 1's Jordan North playing a DJ set. The best dressed competition took place between 11.30am and 2.30pm where dozens of competitors battled to win a heap of prizes that included Beaverbrooks jewellery, hospitality packages for next year's races, champagne and fancy dinners.
