Nottinghamshire Live readers are in disagreement after an East Midlands beach was named as one of the best in the country. The Times put Mablethorpe beach in third on the ‘Best Beaches 2022’ list for the east of England, ahead of Skegness as well as beaches in both Suffolk and Norfolk.
The Times said: “Don’t let the grim-looking hinterland put you off. Climb the ramp past the Queens Park Close flats and behold the clean, soft, flat sands of a resort that hides its light under bushels of bingo halls, tattoo parlours and discount megastores.”A lot of people took to social media to say they agreed with the decision and loved the beach - travelling there from Nottinghamshire regularly.
James Parker wrote: "You know what, went yesterday after 17 years it's really cleaned up had a fantastic day with the wife." Anita Frost loves the beach, writing: "Mablethorpe pullover promenade and beach are excellent - clean and well used."
