🌡️ Parts of the UK will be hotter than Ibiza today with temperatures climbing close to 40C by weekend
Britons face a scorcher on what could be the hottest day of the year so far today, with temperatures set to reach 33C., including Ibiza and Marbella in Spain.
Some forecasting models are predicting that the mercury could hit 40C by early next week, which would break the UK’s record of 38.7C recorded in England in 2019., with advice issued to people in affected areas including shading or covering windows and checking in on the vulnerable and elderly. The UK’s record high temperature for this year currently stands at 32.7C, recorded at Heathrow on June 17.“There is strong sunshine caused by high pressure across England and Wales today, with possible highs to 33C and widely temperatures of 30C to 32C,” he said.“It will be an uncomfortable night for many tonight with temperatures remaining in the high teens and possibly early 20s.”
A Level 3 Heat Health Alert has been put in place by the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency in the east and south-east of England, while a Level Two alert has been issued for the rest of England.The four-level system highlights the potential health impacts of high temperatures.The new working week will start bright or sunny for most of us, with temperatures rising fairly rapidly
