Greater Lincolnshire leaders are expressing renewed confidence in their latest bid for devolution, with a mayoral election potentially slated for as soon as 2025.
"We're currently in the process of building up a deal with the government, which we hope to find agreement on later in the year," he said. "It's about all the councils in Lincolnshire, and businesses. So we want a good partnership with people, a good mix of people on this Combined Authority" Philip Jackson, leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, also expressed support for devolution, viewing it as a great opportunity for Greater Lincolnshire and a chance for the region to exercise more powers and receive additional funding.
