Charges brought against former police officer for allegedly distributing indecent images
A former Lincolnshire Police officer is to appear in court over the alleged distribution of indecent images.The alleged offences occurred in June 2022 while he was off-duty, and he is to appear in court on Tuesday, June 27.
A statement issued by Lincolnshire Police said: "Former PC Matthew Townell, 41, who served at Gainsborough, was charged following an investigation carried out by our Protecting Vulnerable People unit. "He is charged with distributing two indecent category C still images while off duty in June 2022 and is due to appear at Lincoln Crown Court on 27 June."
