Austin Retired Officer Association President Dennis Farris joined 'Fox & Friends First' to react to the Texas DPS needing to step in amid police shortage crisis.
Dennis Farris of the Austin Retired Officers Association discusses the police shortage in Austin, Texas that is driving Gov. Greg Abbott to allocate some DPS officers to help out in the area.
"In 2020, the city council, in its infamous wisdom, decided to defund the Austin Police Department and start attacking the fine women and men of theby cutting 150 positions and siding with the activists who want to abolish the police department," said Dennis Farris, who added that the ongoing bashing of cops by the city council is contributing to low morale among officers.
