Danny Murphy believes Liverpool signing Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips would be a good move.
In each of the Citizens' first four matches this season, Phillips has been an unused substitute. And a report from talkSPORT claimed that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was considering a swoop for the 27-year-old after losing out on Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo. But with Phillips facing an uncertain future at club level ahead of the European Championships in Germany next summer, Murphy believes the former Elland Road hero would provide another good option to Klopp's squad selection.
Klopp's midfield rebuild is still taking shape. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were unveiled as Liverpool players before the top-flight campaign commenced while Japan captain Endo was handed his debut on Saturday during the 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth.
