Intrepid egg-rollers braved the rain as Preston's famous Easter event returned for another year today . The family bash, held at Avenham and Miller Park, saw hundreds of visitors flock to the area from all over Lancashire. Held every Easter Monday, the historic event sees participants rolling both chocolate and decorated eggs down the steep hill in hourly intervals.
It's been around so long, many people now describe the event as"just a Preston thing" - and it's one that's kept them comingback for years. Egg rolling, which also takes place at the White House in Washington DC every year,, traditionally involved rolling decorated eggs down grassy hills known as pace-eggs.
