ITV Coronation Street fans left bemused after Southport labelled the 'Paris of the North'
Coronation Street fans were left shocked after Southport was called the "Paris of the North" in its latest episode.
As reported by the ECHO, in 1838 a young prince who was politically exiled to England, went on a trip to the seaside and fell in love with Lord Street in Southport - said to be one of the first boulevards in the world. Lined with shops and developments, it was different to the mills and factories seen elsewhere.
Brian then adds: "And Morecambe. Such history in the entertainment world and a wonderful art deco hotel."
