How different does Claire Sweeney look as new Coronation Street character?! 🙌
Claire Sweeney is making her first appearance on Coronation Street. The 52 year old Brookside actor is hitting the cobbles as Tyrone Dobbs' long-lost mum Cassandra.
"I'm not vain," she said. "I'm an actress, the first day filming on the cobbles, one of the extras like you said to me 'Oh, we didn't we didn't recognise you' and a full 'brilliant!'. That's how I wanted to be, I want her to be so far removed from me." The new storyline will see Cassie arrive in Weatherfield and cause havoc for Tyrone and his grandmother Evelyn.
"I love Cassie and I hope the audience love her as much as I do," she continued. "She's vulnerable, she's troubled and she's got major problems."
