“I don’t think we’ve even touched the peak,” Scott Jr. said. “I think, and I say this in a good way, that I don’t want to reach that peak cause that means there isn’t stuff for us to work on. There’s always film for us to watch, there’s always reads that I gotta make better throws. We’re always looking for ways to improve.”
“This is the first time in the many schools I’ve been to I’ve had an offensive-minded head coach,” he said. “It’s helped my development. I feel more comfortable staying in the pocket, throwing the ball, and I think that really marries into the things I can do with my legs.” “Any time you go out there and play the first game the way he came out and played, you get immediate buy-in,” he said. “Just like the coaching staff, you come out and you win and you play well and you make good decisions and people start believing in you. If we came out and we laid an egg, people would've started questioning.”
“It never feels like work,” he said. “It always feels like something that we like to do, that we want to do, and we’re excited about it. We’ve got a great group of guys. And there’s some characters, too, they’re funny. These are my brothers, I love being with them every moment of the day.”
