They said there will be a wee 'Julie-shaped' hole in Shawlands as the popular chef permanently moves to Partick.
A popular café in the southside has paid tribute to a fellow fan favourite in Shawlands which has closed its doors for the final time.
Posting on Instagram, the Café Strange Brew owner Laurie MacMillan wrote: "The end of an era, as @julieskopitiam closes its door. Definitely going to be a wee Julie-shaped hole left in the southside of Glasgow but sending all the best wishes and love to her and her team and watch keenly what adventures await them all next.The pair share a closer bond than most, as Julie's Kopitiam took over the former unit that Cafe Strange Brew originally sat in.
"I passed the unit on to Julie, knowing this would be a great starting point for her with the immense support from a great community. Now it’s time for Julie to pass the baton to @chawppetnoi and I just know that this is going to be great for them. Taking time out from closing the unit, chef Julie Lin, who is now permanently going to be based at her Gaga in Partick, shared the love by responding: "What an amazing unit you gave to us, well be forever thankful. You are the first and best to delight Shawlands with brunch.
