ICYMI: Alleged ransomware attacker extradited to the US, $28.2 million in bitcoin seized
extradited to the US on Wednesday after being accused of conducting ransomware attacks in 2020.of carrying out dozens of ransomware attacks between April and December 2020, according to the Department of Justice. Some $28.2 million in bitcoin was seized by Canadian officials in early 2021 in connection with the investigation.

Vachon-Desjardins faces charges of conspiracy to commit computer fraud and wire fraud, intentional damage to a protected computer and transmitting a demand in relation to damaging a protected computer.
