Glasgow City Council has written to parents across the city to let them know that all nurseries, primaries, secondaries and ASL schools will be closed during the industrial action later this month.

It comes after Unison rejected the latest pay offer put forward by The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities . The two-part offer would provide at least a £1,929 increase in annual salary for workers by January 1, 2024. "The strike will involve many of our Education Services staff and will include support for learning workers, escorts, administration staff, catering, janitorial, cleaning services and school crossing patrollers. It is therefore not possible to secure a safe environment and provide lunches for our young people or maintain continuity of learning.
