A U.S. class-action lawsuit related to Bayer’s Essure, a birth control implant, resulted in a $1.6 billion out-of-court settlement in 2020. Now, more than 380 women in Brazil are seeking damages from Bayer.
“Essure destroyed my life and the lives of so many other women,” Cavalcanti said. “No money in this world will give me my life back.
