'I would be texting her as if she was still working with me.'
"I was devastated," she said."Jo and I are friends from before and we waited 10 years to be able to work with each other again. Thencame up and we got to live with each other, work with each other, laugh with each other – but then of course she left at the end of last series, after Amy [-Leigh Hickman] left, who played my daughter and I was very close to.
"I would be texting her as if she was still working with me. I'd send her a picture when it was minus 5 degrees on the rugby pitch and she'd send me a picture back of drinking wine in the garden to make me jealous. "I miss her, of course I miss her, not just as my friend but also as a great actor within our show. She was a really steely, likeable teacher who you didn't want to mess with and that's a very fine balance to get right but Jo found it. We really miss Jo for that, we didn't replace her character – we are just waiting to see who fills that spot."
